Walmart U.S. reported unaudited earnings results for the fourth quarter and full year ended January 31, 2015. For the quarter, the company reported net sales of USD 79.571 billion compared to USD 76.433 billion a year ago. Operating income was USD 6.177 billion compared to USD 6.216 billion a year ago. Comp sales increased 1.5% for the 13-week period ended Jan. 30, 2015.
For the year, the company reported net sales of USD 288.049 billion compared to USD 279.406 billion a year ago. Operating income was USD 21.336 billion compared to USD 21.787 billion a year ago. The company's comp sales increased 0.5% for the fifty two-week period ended January 30, 2015.
For the 13-week period ending May 1, 2015, the company expects comp store sales to increase between 1% and 2%. Last year, Walmart's comp sales were relatively flat for the 13-week period ended May 2, 2014.
Walmart U.S. Announces Executive Changes

Wal-Mart Stores on December 10, 2014 announced that Judith McKenna has been promoted to COO of Walmart U.S., succeeding Gisel Ruiz, who has been appointed EVP of Walmart International. The appointments are effective immediately, and continue the rapid churn at the senior levels of the retailerâ s U.S. operations. McKenna, who had been serving as chief development officer for Walmart U.S., will report directly to U.S. CEO Greg Foran. McKenna joined Walmart nearly 20 years ago in its Asda division in her native U.K., eventually serving as Asdaâ s CFO and COO. McKenna also served Walmart International as EVP of strategy and international development.
