Etihad Airways Announces Early Arrival of Signature A380 Service to John F. Kennedy International Airport

Etihad Airways announced that its Airbus A380 service will begin flying between Abu Dhabi (AUH) and New York'sJohn F. Kennedy (JFK) International Airport on Nov. 23, 2015. The new service was originally scheduled to begin on Dec. 1, 2015 and will replace one of the existing Boeing 777 services. Etihad Airways will offer daily service with the airline's new A380 between the two cities, with EY103 departing Abu Dhabi at 3:20 a.m. and arriving at 9:10 a.m. in New York. The return flight, EY102, will depart New York at 2:30 p.m. and arrive the next day in Abu Dhabi at 12:15 p.m.
Etihad Airways Signs Five-Year, Multi-Million Dollar Agreement with British Telecom

Etihad Airways has signed a five-year, multi-million dollar agreement with British Telecom to virtualize its global contact centers. The partnership has enhanced the airline’s guest experience by reducing call waiting times, introducing new servicing capabilities, and providing services in 15 languages. Based on a Cisco platform, the cloud-based contact centre solution, BT Cloud Contact Cisco is enabling Etihad Airways to seamlessly route calls from 40 countries to any one of 450 multi-lingual agents available across its three contact centres in Abu Dhabi and Al Ain in the UAE, and Manchester in the UK. Through its Cloud Contact platform, BT provides a seamless end-to-end service for Etihad Airways’ contact centres with many new capabilities including a new customer relationship system. It also gives access to innovative technology from other suppliers such as Verint and Cisco that provide a variety of solutions to enhance the airline’s guest experience further.
Etihad Airways Introduces New Baggage Policy

Etihad Airways has introduced new baggage policy allowing higher allowance on selected routes and cutting cost of excess baggage on the majority of fares. The new baggage enhancements are in conjunction with the launch of its new fare choices tariff structure effective for tickets issued on or after September 14, 2015. The policy will address individual customer needs with greater flexibility and to more closely align Etihad Airways partner airlines. The changes will provide greater benefits to guests with increased rewards members. Passengers travelling from the UAE and GCC countries to India Pakistan Sri Lanka and Nepal economy class will get 30kg; business class 40 kg and first class will get 50 kg allowance. On all journeys from and to US Canada economy class will get 2 bags up to 23kg each; business class 2 bags up to 32kg each; and first class 2 bags up to 32kg each. Increased allowance for Economy Value and Economy Freedom guests on certain routes from 30 kg to two pieces of baggage at 23 kg per bag - a total allowance of 46 kg. On selected routes the Economy Class allowance has been increased for all fare choices from 30 kg to two pieces of baggage at 23 kg per bag. In premium cabins on certain routes the allowance has been increased from 40/50 kg to two pieces of baggage at 32 kg per bag. Etihad Gold and Platinum members will receive one extra piece of baggage at 32kg on piece concept routes compared to 15kg and 20kg respectively previously. Etihad Silver members now receive a minimum of 2 bags of 23kg.
