Sky Italia Launches OTT Football Package

Sky Italia has launched monthly football-based TV package offered by an Italian OTT service. The Football pack is available under the company's Sky Online internet TV service and has been introduced to coincide with the start of the new Europa League season. For EUR 19.99 per month subscribers can stream all Serie A matches, all Serie B matches and all Europa League matches (including those featuring Italian teams Lazio, Napoli and Fiorentina). The service has no tie-in period and also comes with free access to the Sky TG24 and Sky Sport24 channels. In addition, Sky Online viewers can also subscribe to the broadcaster's Cinema and Entertainment packages for EUR 9.99 each or EUR 16.99 for both.
Rai and Sky Italia Confirm an Agreement to Air the Rai 4 Channel

Rai and Sky Italia confirmed an agreement to air the Rai 4 channel on Sky's DTH platform starting September 14, 2015. The three-year deal to broadcast Rai 4 on channel 104 of the Sky platform will be reviewed after 18 months, depending on audience figures. Sky moved to replace Rete 4 (Mediaset) with Rai 4 after a row with Mediaset over retransmission fees. To counter Mediaset's move to fully encrypt its free-to-air channels on Sky's DTH platform starting September 7, 2015 the satellite broadcaster also replaced Canale 5 and Italia 1, occupying channels 105 and 106, with Sky Uno and Fox.

Sky Italia has signed an agreement with FremantleMedia to retain its shows 'X Factor' and 'Italia's Got Talent' until 2018. Under the terms of the deal, the pay-TV platform will continue to broadcast three further series of 'X Factor' beyond the current season, due to start on September 10, 2015, together with two new series of 'Italia's Got Talent' on top of the season scheduled to start in March 2016.
