Stop & Shop's Stores May Sold As Part Of Merger
Mar 18 16
The Stop & Shop Supermarket Company LLC's stores in Wappingers Falls, Rhinebeck and New Paltz are rumored to be affected as part of the merger of its parent company. There are reports that three mid-Hudson Valley Stop & Shop locations could be up for sale. Chris Brand, external communications and public affairs lead for Ahold USA, Inc. said: "The merger is currently under review by the Federal Trade Commission and remains on track for completion in mid-2016. As part of any merger approval process where there may be store divestitures, store visits may be conducted by potential buyers but it's too early to speculate on the outcome of the FTC review process. We do not anticipate any store closures as part of the FTC review process."
