GNC Corp. Key Developments

General Nutrition Centers Inc. and General Nutrition Corp. Enter into Settlement Agreement

General Nutrition Centers Inc. will pay 386 current and former store managers about $350,000 to settle an overtime pay lawsuit. Dominic Vargas of Regent Square and Anne Hickok of Greensboro, N.C., sued General Nutrition Centers Inc. and General Nutrition Corp. in June 2010. They claim in their lawsuit that their regional managers forced them to work off the clock to avoid paying them overtime. GNC denied in court documents that it forced managers to work off the clock and denies liability in the settlement. U.S. District Judge Terrence McVerry approved the settlement of the collective action. In addition to the money going to the managers, GNC has agreed to pay the plaintiffs' lawyers, Adrian Roe and Michael Simon, $475,000 in attorney fees.
