Hillwood Investment Properties Appoints Don Schoenheider as Senior Vice President and Market Officer; Opens New Office

Hillwood Investment Properties announced that Don Schoenheider has joined the company as Senior Vice President and Market Officer to oversee its industrial business in the Chicago area. Schoenheider brings more than 28 years of real estate sales, development and management experience. He will remain based in Chicago, where he will open a new company office and pursue additional opportunities in the Midwest such as Milwaukee, Indianapolis and Columbus. Prior to joining the company, Schoenheider served as Vice President and City Manager at Liberty Property Trust, where he was responsible for the company's Chicago/Milwaukee region. He also served as Co-Leader of Liberty's National Industrial Practice Group that focuses on strategy, execution and customer relationships for the company's national industrial portfolio. During his nine-year tenure at Liberty, he led the growth of its Midwest industrial portfolio through development of new warehouse projects and acquisitions totaling nearly 13 million square feet and 350 acres of development land.
CIT Real Estate Finance Provides Loan to Hillwood Investment Properties

CIT Group Inc. announced that CIT Real Estate Finance has provided a loan to Hillwood Investment Properties. The financing will be used to develop Trade Center 83, a 1.2 million-square-foot Class A warehouse/distribution center on 95 acres in York County, Pennsylvania. The center will be tilt-up construction and feature 50-foot x 56-foot typical column spacing, 36-foot ceiling clear heights, cross-dock configuration, 203 dock doors, high efficiency T-5 lighting and ESFR sprinklers. Financing was provided by CIT Bank. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
Hillwood Investment Properties Hires Kurt Nelson as Senior Vice President

Hillwood Investment Properties announced that it has hired Kurt Nelson - the senior vice president and regional director of industrial real estate firm IDI Gazeley for the best part of 19 years - as its senior vice president. Since 2001, Nelson has negotiated leases and sales of more than 16 million square feet and has led development of 24 buildings with more than 11 million square feet. Before joining IDI Gazeley, he was a senior financial analyst at CB Commercial. He began his career at NationsBank as a management associate in the Trust Department.
