Old Mutual Receives New Approaches For OM Asset Management Stake

HNA Group Co., Ltd., TPG Capital, L.P. and Advent Venture Partners have given proposals to acquire controlling shares in OM Asset Management plc(NYSE:OMAM) held by Old Mutual plc (LSE:OML). Old Mutual declared plans to sell off controlling shares worth $900 million held in American asset management service provider. No conclusive agreement has been reached yet, according to four people briefed about the discussions.

A Mystery Suitor For UDC Finance

A mystery suitor is said to have approached Australia and New Zealand Banking Group Limited (ASX:ANZ)'s for UDC Finance Limited. A north-Asia based suitor is said to have interrupted ANZ Banking Group's bilateral talks with HNA Group Co., Ltd. on the sale of the former's asset finance business in New Zealand. ORIX Corporation (TSE:8591) has previously showed interest in expanding locally, is not the mystery bidder. HNA is being advised by Nomura while Deutsche Bank is tending to ANZ on the UDC sale.

Klein Reportedly Eyes Avianca

The Klein family intends to acquire Avianca. The Brazilian press says that Klein is interested in buying Avianca but has not specified whether it means Avianca Holdings or Avianca Brasil. The other firms in the race are Compañía Panameña de Aviación, S.A., United Continental Holdings, Inc. (NYSE:UAL) and HNA Group Co., Ltd.
