Comunicaciones Nextel de México, S.A. de C.V. announced unaudited earnings results for the third quarter and nine months ended September 30, 2014. For the quarter, the company reported operating revenues of $336.3 million compared to $432.7 million for the same period a year ago. Earning were $1.8 million compared to $32.1 million for the same period a year ago. For the nine months, the company reported operating revenues of $1,063.6 million compared to $1,426.3 million for the same period a year ago. Loss was $59.8 million compared to earning of $172.8 million for the same period a year ago.

Nextel Mexico Announces Board Changes

Nextel Mexico announced that Salvador Alvarez will join the NII Holdings Inc. as President, the company on July 14, 2014 and John McMahon, Interim President of the company, will be leaving the company and NII on July 31, 2014. Mr. Alvarez has served in a variety of leadership roles both in Latin America and internationally. Most recently, he acted as the CEO of Maxcom. Prior to that, he was the CEO of Corporativo Corvi. He also served in various leadership roles at ConAgra foods both within Mexico and internationally from 1997 to 2003.
