First National Energy Corp. Awards P206-Million Contract to DM Consunji Inc. and Power Dimension, Inc

First National Energy Corp. (Napocor) has awarded the P206-million contract to improve electricity transmission services in Masbate province. The project involves supply and installation of a 76-kilometer (km), 69-kilovolt transmission line that will connect the municipalities of Mobo and Cataingan. DM Consunji Inc. bagged the contract for the 34-km segment of the project, while Power Dimension Inc. got the remaining 42-km portion. Napocor said completion of the project should result in "significant reduction in system loss, which in turn would also mean that less generation is needed to deliver a certain amount of power to consumers." At the same time, the new transmission line will accommodate energy from future power plants that are needed to address increasing demand. The project is part of the missionary electrification development plan of the government.
