French cosmetics and luxury goods group L'Oreal S.A. (ENXTPA:OR) has started talks with Brazilian make-up company Natura Cosmeticos S.A. (BOVESPA:NATU3) over selling The Body Shop International plc, L'Oreal said recently. L'Oreal added in a statement that the companies' proposed transaction placed an enterprise value of €1 billion ($1.1 billion) on The Body Shop business.

Jack Ma Reportedly Invited To Join Bid For L'Oreal's The Body Shop

Investindustrial has invited the investment vehicle of Alibaba's founder Jack Ma to submit a joint bid of more than €800 million for L'Oréal S.A. (ENXTPA:OR)'s The Body Shop International plc, sources familiar with the matter said on June 2, 2017, just days before a deadline for final bids. Blue Pool Capital Ltd. has been asked to team up with Investindustrial and GP Investments, Ltd. (BOVESPA:GPIV33) in making a bid for The Body Shop, the sources said. CVC Capital Partners Limited is also planning to submit a rival offer ahead of a June 7, 2017 deadline for final bids.
