Freudenberg Invests USD 40.7 Million in Office Building in Germany

The Freudenberg Group has announced plans to invest EUR 36 million (USD 40.7 million) in a modern office and administration building at the company's Weinheim site in Germany. The facility, to be spread over around 14,000 square metres, will include a total of 800 ultra-modern workplaces for employees, a conference centre with the latest media technology and an auditorium for 400 people. The new building will provide workplaces for office employees already working at the site. Tenants at the new building will include Freudenberg Sealing Technologies, Freudenberg Information Technologies and Trelleborg Vibracoustic. Further discussions are currently under way, and construction is expected to be completed towards the end of 2016.

Freudenberg reported earnings results for the year ended December 31, 2014. For the year, the company reported that net profit increased 19.8% year-on-year to EUR 477.8 million (USD 580.7 million). Operating profit grew from EUR 457.3 million to EUR 563.4 million. Sales grew 5.9% year-on-year to EUR 5.98 billion, and automotive OEMs made up 25% of the total sales. In 2014, the company's cash flow from operating activities rose by EUR 101.9 million to EUR 617.8 million. In total, the group invested EUR 369.8 million including EUR 271.6 million in production plants, tangible assets, buildings and intangible assets, with the JVs consolidated by the equity method.
Freudenberg Group Appoints Bob Evans as Regional Representative

Bob Evans has been appointed the Freudenberg Group's regional representative effective January 1, 2015. With this appointment, Evans also becomes the member of Freudenberg's Global Executive Team, representing the North American region. In his new position, Evans reports directly to the Freudenberg Board of Management. As the regional representative, he is responsible for representing the Freudenberg Group's interests in the region while working on cross-divisional cooperation of all Freudenberg entities in the region. At the same time, Evans continues his current responsibilities as the Group's General Counsel for the region. Bob joined the Freudenberg Group in August 2003 as general counsel of Freudenberg-NOK Sealing Technologies. In 2010, he became Freudenberg Group legal counsel for the Americas. Prior to Freudenberg, Bob worked in the legal departments of the Kimberly-Clark Corporation and NCR Corporation, and with the law firm of Ice Miller.
