HSBC France Announces Consolidated Earnings Results for the Year 2015

HSBC France announced consolidated earnings results for the year 2015. For the year, the bank's profit before tax rose to €618 million compared with €232 million in 2014 and rose to €548 million compared with €496 million on an adjusted basis. The increase was mainly due to growth in insurance company earnings, driven by the positive change in present value of inforce (`PVIF')2, coupled with an improved operating performance across the wealth management business lines. Reported revenue amounted to €2,371 million compared with €1,929 million in 2014. On an adjusted basis, HSBC France's revenue rose to €2,285 million compared with the 2014 figure of €2,186 million, including the impact of the change in the PVIF of life insurance policies. Net profit attributable to shareholders of the parent company was €445 million versus €198 million in 2014.
