German Efromovich, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Avianca Holdings S.A. and Aerovias del Continente Americano S.A. Avianca, announced the appointment of Hernán Rincón Lema as the new Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Avianca Holdings S.A. and Avianca S.A. Mr. Rincón, who was previously CEO of Microsoft Latin America, will replace Alvaro Jaramillo Buitrago, who was appointed interim CEO after Fabio Ramirez Villegas stepped down as Chief Executive Officer.

Avianca Reportedly Seeks To Acquire MacAir

Aerovías del Continente Americano S.A. Avianca is close to buying Macair Jet S.A., Argentine newspaper La Nacion reported on Saturday, citing a source in the know. The sale must be approved by Argentina's Ministry of Transport.

All Nippon Airways Co., Ltd. and Avianca S.A. Enters into the Start of Code-Share Services

All Nippon Airways Co. Ltd. and Avianca S.A. have announced the start of code-share services, effective October 25, 2015. Passengers will be able to book flights with ANA flight code between Japan via the USA or UK to Colombia, El Salvador, Guatemala and Honduras, available for purchase starting October 14, 2015. Subject to government approvals. Members of each airline's mileage club will continue to be able to earn air miles and use rewards on all flights operated by either company. Continuously, passengers traveling on multi-leg flights including a code-share leg will only have to check-in once to check their baggage through to their final destination.
