Vodafone Netherlands Announces Board Changes

Marcel de Groot has taken over as director of the consumer business unit at Vodafone Netherlands from 01 February. He works at the operator since 2008, first as head of postpaid, and left in 2012 for a period to work at Vodafone Ireland as consumer director. He replaces Bart Hofker, who held the position for around seven years. The appointment comes as Vodafone launches an attack on the multi-play market.

Eben Albertyn has been appointed as new chief technology officer by Vodafone Netherlands. The present CTO, Mallik Rao declared that he will hand over the designation to Albertyn on 01 October. Since April 2012, Rao held the position and assisted in heading the roll-out of Vodafone's 4G network and the Project Spring endowments. He will shift to Vodafone Turkey. Albertyn previously worked for South African mobile operator MTN, where he was the CTO since 2013.
