Innovative Automates Library Acquisitions Workflow with Gobi Integration from YBP Library Services
Jun 13 16
Innovative Interfaces has collaborated with YBP Library Services to enhance Sierra acquisitions with an integration between Innovatives RESTful API and YBPs acquisition and collection development interface GOBI (Global Online Bibliographic Information). Part of a long-standing, strategic partnership between Innovative and YBP Library Services, a division of EBSCO Information Services, this integration will dramatically improve library operations and efficiencies, and ensure staff are equipped to leverage the newest technologies to easily manage acquisitions workflows. GOBI orders are reflected in Sierra in real time, without requiring traditional FTP or EDI ordering. By reducing the number of steps and manual input required to complete a purchase, libraries will experience significant savings in time and resources. Four notable libraries have participated in beta testing the integration, including Michigan State University, Santa Clara University in California, Union College in New York, and Wright State University in Ohio.
