Alteryx Inc. announced the availability of Alteryx Analytics 9.1 which continues to empower analysts with more data blending for all of the sources of insight they need to use -- all in an intuitive workflow and with no coding required. From Excel to Big Data, this latest release empowers analysts to rapidly blend data from even more sources of insight, expands access to sophisticated predictive analytics to every analyst in their organization, and extends its complete and widely adopted data blending solution for Tableau. Latest Alteryx Analytics Platform Extends the Value of Every Data Source. Highlights of this release include: Data Blending for Hadoop, Google BigQuery and Excel. Analysts now expect to be able to use data directly from any source. Alteryx 9.1 provides analysts with the ability to directly access data from the Hadoop Distributed File System (HDFS), blend it with other sources, perform advanced analytics, and then write enriched data back to it. Access to Hadoop data using HIVE is also enhanced with a faster connector. The latest version of Alteryx Analytics also enables analysts to blend data from Google BigQuery with any other source of data. In addition, analysts can blend Excel data with other data sources at speeds up to 10 times faster than before using the new Alteryx connector. Enriched Tableau Support. Analysts can now append blended data to existing Tableau TDE files, to easily update previously created files, reducing the effort required to create and maintain Alteryx fueled Tableau visualizations. The newly updated Alteryx Visual Analytics Kit for Tableau delivers new samples and content that make it even easier for new Alteryx and Tableau users to get value in hours, not the weeks of alternative solutions. Predictive Analytics for Every Data Analyst. Alteryx Analytics adds seven new predictive tools, which deliver advanced modeling including neural networks and machine learning techniques with no coding required. This version also has updates to existing predictive tools including improved capabilities for Time Series A/B testing.

Alteryx and Databricks to Lead Development of Apache Spark for Scalable Hadoop Analytics

Alteryx and Databricks announced they are collaborating to drive the value of Apache Hadoop and Spark into the hands of everyday analysts. These companies will become the primary committers to SparkR, a subset of the overall Spark framework. In addition, Alteryx and Databricks are announcing a technology and go-to-market partnership to accelerate the adoption of SparkR and SparkSQL, in order to help analysts get greater value from Spark as the leading open-source in-memory engine. Apache Spark, an open source data analytics framework, has quickly been gaining traction for its fast and scalable in-memory analytic processing capabilities inside and independent of Hadoop. SparkR is an R package that enables the R programming language to run inside of the Spark framework in order to manipulate the data for analytics. The collaboration between Alteryx and Databricks will foster faster delivery of a market leading in-memory engine for R-based analytics within Hadoop that is available for the Spark community. Together the companies will work to bring the SparkR package to a 1.0 production version, utilizing a growing array of machine learning algorithms. Alteryx and Databricks will also collaborate on joint technology and go-to-market activities to speed the ease of use and adoption of SparkR and SparkSQL technologies for data blending and advanced analytics on the Spark platform. Alteryx will be adopting the Apache Spark framework into a future release of the Alteryx Analytics platform to allow its customers to achieve faster, scalable analytics across all of their data. As an important foundation, Alteryx will support the ability to read and write directly to Hadoop HDFS in an upcoming release to the Alteryx Analytics platform.
