EDF Energy Secures UK Approval to Build 1800MW Power Station

EDF Energy has secured approval from the UK Department of Energy and Climate Change (DECC) for the construction of 1800MW gas-fired power plant in Sutton Bridge, Lincolnshire in the east of England. The power plant, which is expected to create around 1,500 construction jobs, will have 35 years of operational life. EDF will now make a final investment decision for the combined cycle gas turbine project, which is planned to be completed between 28-36 months.
