Telenor Denmark Wins Tender to Supply TV2

Telenor Denmark announced that it has gained TV2 as a new customer after the broadcaster put a contract to provide it with telecommunications services out to tender. From February 2015, Telenor will provide TV2 with 1,200 mobile phone subscriptions, 900 mobile broadband subscriptions, 625 ADSL connections and four direct lines for two years. Initially, the deal applies to TV2's headquarters (HQ) but the eight regional branches could join it eventually. The deal has the option of two twelve-month extensions.

Telenor Denmark reported earnings results for the second quarter of 2014. For the quarter, the company reported a drop in revenues, as mobile customer growth was offset by a shift to prepaid and lower-price plans. Mobile revenues were down to DKK 915 million from DKK 1.031 billion a year earlier, due to lower handset sales and the market shift to discounted plans. EBITDA plunged to DKK 119 million from DKK 216 million a year ago due to the revenue weakness and restructuring costs. Fixed revenues dropped to DKK 145 million from DKK 175 million in the year-earlier period.
