FlatFrog Announces Launch of 78" Ultra-High Definition Curved Touchscreen Display
Jan 5 15
FlatFrog announced its latest achievement with the launch of the 78" ultra-high definition (UHD) curved touchscreen display that will be demonstrated at CES 2015 in Las Vegas, FlatFrog Laboratories AB is now demonstrating a new class of UHD 78" curved multi-touch display. The touch technology is bezel-free with perfect transparency suitable for UHD touch displays that cannot be matched by existing capacitive or IR touch solutions. This solution is part of the 15-84" high resolution multi-touch platform supported by FlatFrog. FlatFrog's InGlass touchscreens enable thin edge-to-edge design with perfect optical clarity. At this form factor, the superior clarity combined with edge-to-edge design is well suited for Interactive Digital Signage, Conferencing, Interactive Whiteboards, Education, Control Centers, Gaming and Hospitality Displays. To capture the end consumer attention OEMs design large interactive displays, interactive touch content and now have additional curved display options with FlatFrog that support widescreen panoramic effect. This allows users to immerse themselves in the interactive digital experience for signage, gaming, and other applications. Competing capacitive solutions require physical sensors embedded on top of the LCD, which reduce the optical clarity. InGlass touch has no sensor grid obstructing the visual clarity. In addition, InGlass touch technology allows for tablet-like bezel free design. The new class of curve displays is customizable across the existing base of 15-84" flat panel touchscreen portfolio.
Tier-One OEM Selects Flatfrog Laboratories AB's In-Glass Touch Solution for PCs
Jan 31 14
Flatfrog Laboratories AB announced that its touch module has been selected by a tier-one OEM for PC applications. All OEMs are now evaluating FlatFrog technology as an innovative Win8 certified replacement for capacitance touch, especially when highest quality screen clarity is needed. Unlike projected capacitive touch, FlatFrog Touch has no sensor grid in front of the LCD screen, obstructing the image quality. This ensures a superior viewing experience with maximum transparency and no image quality degradation. Furthermore, the FlatFrog technology is insensitive to LCD noise, eliminating the need for an additional shielding layer, which adds extra cost. This means that OEMs can develop solutions with optimal viewing performance while reducing their touch module spending significantly. A range of high volume consumer PC products can already be enabled with FlatFrog Touch, including Notebooks, Tablets, All-in-One PCs and Monitors. FlatFrog Touch is certified for Windows 8.1 and offers a premium touch experience supporting over 40 simultaneous touches at a lower cost than the projected capacitive touch technology. Additionally FlatFrog Touch natively supports pressure sensing with over 10-bit resolution. FlatFrog can enable pressure sensitive drawing and writing without the need for an active stylus, as well as new application gestures for music, gaming and smart user interfaces.
FlatFrog Laboratories AB Presents New Zero air-gap ZG Touch Screen
Jan 7 14
FlatFrog Laboratories AB announced its new optimal zero air-gap ZG(TM) touch screen designed for all displays including high definition (HD) quality displays. The FlatFrog optimal touch screen combines a single cover glass with a zero air-gap technology, enabling true edge-to-edge designs with a perfect touch and viewing experience. By minimizing the distance between the display and touch module the industrial design can be made thinner and lighter allowing elimination of all parallax issues when touching, even at wide angles. With optional anti-reflective (AR) coating the light transmission is over 99% and any disturbing reflections are minimised without the need for expensive direct bonding of cover glass and LCD panel. Unlike projected capacitive touch, FlatFrog Touch has no sensor grid obstructing the viewing experience of the LCD screen. The optimal touch screen design is perfect for high resolution displays in tablets, computers and monitors as well as for large interactive flat panel displays used in education, conferencing and digital signage applications.
