Essilor of America Launches New Line of Varilux Progressive Lenses

Essilor of America announced a new range of Varilux® Progressive lenses to debut on February 3, 2015. The launch will be supported by an additional investment in Varilux consumer advertising, following successful efforts in 2014 that led to higher traffic on the new Varilux.com and more searches on the ECP locator. The additional investment is also a direct result of increased patient visits to independent ECP offices and an increase in sales. Varilux is the progressive lens for the correction of presbyopia, the most widespread vision problem in the world. The new range of Varilux lenses also feature W.A.V.E. Technology 2TM, Essilor's next-generation lens technology that identifies and manages distortions to deliver sharp vision at every distance, even in low light. Essilor will provide ECPs with comprehensive training and streamlined, patient-friendly messaging around the new designs, to facilitate selection of the best visual solution for patients.
Essilor of America Launches Varilux Comfort Enhanced Fit Digital Lenses

Essilor of America announced the launch of Varilux Comfort Enhanced Fit ™ digital lenses, a new personalized option within the Varilux ® Comfort ® lenses family that is easy to prescribe. The new Varilux Comfort Enhanced Fit digital lens is the latest version of the innovative lens design that is tested and approved by wearers. Nine out of ten eyeglass wearers have different frame wearing parameters outside the average values traditionally used to calculate lens design. Varilux Comfort Enhanced Fit digital lenses allow the lens design to be optimized through use of personalized frame wearing measurements. In addition, these lenses minimize unnatural head movement when reading, provide comfortable transitions at all distances, reduce peripheral distortion to expand visual fields throughout the lens, and offer design elements on both sides of the lens through Varilux DualOptixTM digital surfacing. Comfort Enhanced Fit digital lenses are easily dispensed using the current Visioffice ® System, as well as the new Visioffice ® 2 System, which features cutting-edge, digital measuring technology that will be available this month.

Essilor of America is partnering with Transitions Optical to launch Transitions ® Signature TM VII lenses, a dark photochromic lenses with full indoor clarity. With this launch, Essilor introduces The Power of 3 initiatives which includes three innovative brands - Varilux ®, Crizal ® No-Glare, and Transitions Signature VII lenses, to provide the sharpest and most comfortable vision at every distance and light condition. With The Power of 3, patients receive maximized visual performance in one dynamic lens. Transitions Signature VII lenses feature a groundbreaking technology, Chromea7 TM, a new proprietary photochromic dye formulation that absorbs more light to allow the lenses to be more responsive to UV than ever. Transitions Signature VII lenses were developed as the result of a new proprietary testing methodology, Life360 TM, which includes live wearer analysis and real world testing in more than 200 real life conditions, in addition to the traditional laboratory measurements. The results are best possible products with a superior wearer’s experience. Moreover, eight out of ten clear lens wearers preferred Transitions Signature VII lenses to the visual experience of their regular clear lenses.
