PT Bank Mandiri (Persero) Tbk Reports Earnings Results for the Second Quarter of 2016

PT Bank Mandiri (Persero) Tbk reported earnings results for the second quarter of 2016. For the quarter, the company reported pre-provision operating profits also grew by about 13.3% showing that operating results continue to remain to be quite solid in the second quarter of this year. Net interest income of IDR 12 trillion increased by about 8.9% from the second quarter of 2015 and this was further supported by net premium income of about IDR 839 billion. Noninterest income continued to show very strong growth on a year-on-year basis, growing at about 20.1% to close to about IDR 5 trillion. Total revenue grew by about 11%. Net income after tax actually declining by about 32% on a year-on-year basis was due to the high provisioning cost of about IDR 5.3 trillion, and coverage provisioning to NPL about 112.7% on consolidated or about 119% on a bank-only basis.
