Kyivstar Reports Earnings Results for the Fourth Quarter and Full Year of 2014

Kyivstar reported earnings results for the fourth quarter and full year of 2014. For the quarter, the company reported revenues declined by 5% year-on-year to UAH 12.231 billion. EBITDA dropped by 11% to UAH 5.526 billion, with the EBITDA margin was down by 3.2% points to 45.2%. Capex decreased by 2% to UAH 1.657 billion. The operator's subscriber base grew by 2% to UAH 26.2 million.
For the fourth quarter, EBITDA declined by 12% to UAH 1.3 billion, while the EBITDA margin went to 42.3%. Total revenue fell by 2% to UAH 3.1 billion, on the back of a decline in fixed revenues. Mobile service revenue was stable at UAH 2.9 billion, positively impacted by increased interconnect revenue, as well as by a 7% mobile data revenue growth, rising to UAH 256 million. The gains were offset by declines in mobile voice, guest roaming and VAS revenue due to more conservative customer spending behaviour, fewer tourist visits to Ukraine, and the impact from the situation in Crimea.
Kyivstar Wins Ukraine 3G License

Kyivstar has been awarded one of three licenses to provide nationwide 3G services in the 2,100 Mhz band for a price of UAH 2.7 billion ($100 million). The launch of 3G will allow the people of Ukraine to now experience the faster speeds and innovative services enjoyed by people all over the world. It will be beneficial to the economy and will help many businesses connect with their customers in new and innovative ways.
