PGA TOUR Superstore continues to show signs it is bucking a retail trend by announcing the signing of leases for three new stores in 2017. PGA TOUR Superstore recently acquired a Sports Authority location in Glendale, Arizona, set to open in January 2017, and is also planning new stores in Hilton Head, South Carolina (for April 2017) and in Jacksonville, Florida (later next year). This November, PGA TOUR Superstore will also open a 45,500 square foot store in Woodland TX, its 27th store (just outside of Houston). Glendale represents the company's fifth Arizona location (joining Chandler, North Scottsdale, Scottsdale and Tucson), while Hilton Head represents their third store in South Carolina (joining Myrtle Beach and South Myrtle Beach) and Jacksonville will be the fourth PGA TOUR Superstore Florida location (joining Delray Beach, Naples and Orlando).

Dick's Sporting Goods Inc. (NYSE:DKS) is reportedly eyeing the acquisition of US operations of Golfsmith International Holdings Inc., according to Reuters. According to unknown sources, auction will take place on October 19. The sale would still need approval from a US bankruptcy court judge. Dick’s are among the potential buyers for Golfsmith International, according to people familiar with the bidding. Ahead of Wednesday’s bankruptcy court-overseen auction, these people said that potential bidders include Worldwide Golf Enterprises, Inc. Other potential bidders are Golf & Tennis Pro Shop Inc. and Yellen Group. Representatives of Dick’s, Worldwide and Golf & Tennis Pro Shop didn’t respond to requests for comment.

PGA TOUR Superstore is ushering in a new experience for Twin Cities golfers in Minnetonka when doors open on June 11, 2016 for the opening of its first interactive retail store. The 41,000 square foot location is at 394 and Ridgedale Road across from the Ridgedale Center in a previous Sports Authority location. The company's new Minnetonka layout is its 26th store in the U.S.
