Ketchum Unveils Food Studio; Announces Executive Changes

Ketchum has transformed its landmark test kitchen into a food studio, which was unveiled at a grand opening held in April 2015 in the firm's San Francisco office. Part of the firm's Global Food & Beverage Practice, the Ketchum Food Studio brings together digital communications and culinary expertise to create a powerful offering, generating content that helps Ketchum clients differentiate from their competition. The Ketchum Food Studio is a culinary communications center staffed by food experts who assist clients with recipe and menu development, new product concepts and nutrition programs, as well as communications professionals who support food issues, content development, food photography, and video production. The studio provides a hub for the practice's 360-degree consulting services for clients with a variety of needs across the food and agricultural spectrum. The Ketchum Food Studio's lineup of culinary talent includes Steve Siegelman, author of more than 37 cookbooks, and Chef David Shalleck, a culinary veteran of 35 years, who has cooked in Michelin-starred restaurants and has worked with numerous restaurant companies and food manufacturers. Coinciding with the launch of the Food Studio, Shelley Roth, a 17-year Ketchum veteran with three decades of food industry experience, has assumed the newly created role of director of the Ketchum Food Studio. Stepping into Roth's former role is Steve Moylan, who joins Ketchum from Safeway as SVP and practice director to lead the Ketchum Food B2B offering. Last month, Ketchum named Tara Munday director of the European Food & Beverage Practice, augmenting the leadership of Kim Essex and Julie Schumacher, who were appointed co-directors of the North American Food & Beverage Practice in 2014.

Ketchum Announces New Appointments Management Team

Ketchum announced the election of 11 new partners. This year's partner group includes four colleagues who play a key leadership role in the success of an office or business unit. They are: Matt Afflixio, president of Access Communications, based in San Francisco; Babette Kemper, managing partner, Dusseldorf; Rudiger Maessen, managing partner, Dusseldorf; Paul Teuton, EMEA regional director for Ketchum Change, based in London. Reflecting Ketchum's relentless commitment to client service, four individuals are recognized for providing outstanding counsel and leading an area of expertise. Those individuals are: Marc Drechsler, head of financial communications, based in New York; Kim Essex, director of the North America Food & Nutrition Practice, based in Chicago; Bill Reihl, managing director of the Global Brand Marketing Practice, based in New York; Kiersten Zweibaum, director of client development, New York. One individual is recognized for furthering Ketchum's reputation as a social and digital engagement agency. That individual is: Stephen Waddington, chief engagement officer, based in London. Further illustrating the firm's deep commitment to operational excellence, this year Ketchum added the following new partners for that area: Lynn Farley, Asia Pacific chief financial officer, based in Los Angeles Bill Visone, chief financial officer, based in New York.

Ketchum Announces Management Changes

Ketchum announced the appointment of Bruce Shu as managing director of Ketchum Greater China, which includes three offices in mainland China (Beijing, Guangzhou and Shanghai) as well as offices in Hong Kong and Taipei. Based in Hong Kong, Shu joins Ketchum and will report to Jon Higgins, senior partner and CEO, International, for Ketchum. Shu has more than 20 years of experience in Asia Pacific as a communications strategist and journalist. He has led communications on the corporate side and at leading agencies. He also has media experience in broadcast and print journalism. Shu succeeds Ketchum partner Sean Fitzgerald, who has taken on the new role of partner and director, North America Corporate & Public Affairs Practice. Shu is supported by a strong and experienced leadership team, which includes the following individuals: Tiffany Hu, VP and deputy general manager, Shanghai; Simeon Mellalieu, partner and general manager, Hong Kong, and Anissa Wong, deputy general manager, Hong Kong; Joe Tong, general manager, Guangzhou; Peng Yue, who was recently promoted to the role of deputy general manager, Beijing; Vivien Teo, VP and director of digital strategy for Greater China. Prior to joining Ketchum, Shu was managing director of Asia Pacific operations at Grayling, where he worked for nearly seven years. He also worked at Citigate Dewe Rogerson for five years, specializing in corporate communications for the financial sector as well as M&A and IPO communications and investor relations. Before becoming a communications consultant, he was regional head of corporate communications for ABN AMRO.
