Cox Business Launches Faster Wi-Fi Speeds Available with Internet Gateway and Guest Wi-Fi Service
Sep 23 14
Cox Business announced the national availability of Internet Gateway and Guest Wi-Fi, a gateway that provides small and medium-sized businesses with a cost-effective, super-fast networking solution for their employees and guests who visit their offices. Cox Business Internet Gateway combines a DOCSIS 3.0 cable modem and a Wi-Fi-enabled 802.11 ac router (enabling the faster Wi-Fi speeds) into one device. This simplifies device management and delivers the faster "in-office" Wi-Fi experience available. The Cox Business Guest Wi-Fi uses a second gateway device, plus a Wi-Fi backhaul connection, which enables businesses to offer dedicated Wi-Fi solutions to their customers without disrupting core business operations. The Internet Gateway and Guest Business Wi-Fi are the latest Wi-Fi solutions from Cox Business. The company also provides Cox Wi-Fi and Cable Wi-Fi offerings, which allow small business employees free access to thousands of secure hotspots when working remotely.

Cox Business announced it has appointed Jeff Breaux as vice president of West Region Sales and Operations and Hyman Sukiennik as vice president of East Region Sales and Operations. Sukiennik has been with Cox Business since 1998, most recently as vice president of the Cox Business Arizona operations. In this role, he led the dramatic expansion efforts of the Tucson and Phoenix markets, including growing the business by 20% per year and adding major public and private school systems as customers. Previously, Sukiennik oversaw Cox Business operations in Omaha. Prior to Cox, Sukiennik was with AT&T in both global and mid-markets leadership positions. Breaux joins Cox Business from Sprint, where he spent 24 years in a variety of senior sales leadership roles. In his last position with the company, Breaux had responsibility for sales across the Southeast and Mid-Atlantic regions and more than $500 million in annual revenue. Instrumental in driving profitable growth of Sprint's global solutions portfolio across a variety of customer segments, channels and verticals, Jeff comes to Cox with extensive B2B technology leadership experience.
Cox Business Services, LLC Announces Availability of Essential Cloud
Mar 10 14
Cox Business Services, LLC announced the availability of Essential Cloud, a suite of cloud-based business applications designed to meet the needs of small businesses in vertical markets. Essential Cloud carefully curates business solutions that can be purchased and managed through one portal, similarly to how music files are managed by consumers. It recommends three "Basic Essentials," which are solutions every business needs, and then tailors solutions by four primary verticals: real estate, restaurant, professional services, and personal services. For instance, Essential Cloud directs those in the professional services industry to a menu of options which includes email marketing, online appointment booking, proposal creation, and secure file sharing - solutions that almost any professional services company would need to run and grow. Essential Cloud also features PayLeap, a payments/merchant services platform, as its anchor business solution. Developed by Acculynk, a Cox Business partner, PayLeap provides small and medium-sized businesses with the ability to integrate in-store, online and mobile payment processing in one offering, thereby eliminating many of the steps and costs typically associated with card payment processing. Customers can access their apps from anywhere, at any time, with continual backup. Essential Cloud also offers personalized service and live consultation via a concierge team to aid users in selecting the best apps for their unique business needs.
