iBASEt Inc. Key Developments

Textron Systems Chooses iBASEt's Solumina Paperless Manufacturing Execution System for the Ship to Shore Connector Program

iBASEt announced that Textron Systems operating unit Textron Marine & Land Systems selected Solumina's Manufacturing Execution System to streamline manufacturing operations for its work on the U.S. Navy's Ship to Shore Connector air cushion vehicle. The SSC is the evolutionary replacement for the Navy's existing fleet of Landing Craft, Air Cushioned (LCAC) vehicles, which are nearing the end of their service life. Textron Marine & Land Systems chose to update or enhance its manufacturing environment with Solumina's MES to improve manufacturing processes and provide increased visibility. Additionally, because Solumina incorporates strict Six-Sigma and ISO-9000 process control methodology, TM&LS will enhance quality checks and balances throughout its manufacturing operations, which will result in a significant reduction in defects, increased throughput and enhanced collaboration between engineers and manufacturers. The initial implementation is slated for TM&LS' New Orleans-based Shipyard Operations, future site of SSC manufacturing, with plans to point Solumina across all of its programs.

iBASEt Inc. Deploys its Solumina Manufacturing Execution System Software Solution

iBASEt announced that it successfully deployed its Solumina Manufacturing Execution System (MES) software solution for L-3 Platform Integration more quickly than any previous installation. L-3 Platform Integration selected Solumina as its paperless shop floor control system to continue an ongoing initiative to increase the efficiency of its existing resources, while improving performance and quality objectives. Solumina's out-of-the-box capabilities will provide enhanced visibility and control of the shop floor, while standardizing existing processes to promote a best practices approach to L-3 Platform Integration's maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) and modification center. Solumina's robust offering will transform L-3 Platform Integration's MRO processes by providing real-time visibility of work in process on the shop floor and concurrent problem resolution that extends into the supplier network. Supervisors will also be able to analyze traceable data to address and resolve bottlenecks and discrepancies quickly. Additionally, Solumina will manage nonconformances, deliver work instructions to the shop floor and synchronize L-3 Platform Integration's enterprise data in real-time. The expected result is improved quality, greater efficiency and reduced cycle times. Solumina integrates planning, technical publications, drawings, engineering change orders and other documents into an electronic package that is available to the mechanic with the click of a button. The system makes possible significant cost savings and process improvements as the software is implemented throughout the facility. Solumina's solution was selected competitively and was deployed at the Waco integration center within six months of the project's start.

Cirrus Aircraft Selects iBASEt Inc. to Implement Solumina's Manufacturing and Supplier Quality Software

iBASEt announced that Cirrus Aircraft selected Solumina's Manufacturing Execution System (MES) software package to be implemented at its Duluth, Minn., facility and Solumina's Supplier Quality Assurance (SQA) suite to be used by 10 supplier sites. In addition, Cirrus will be utilizing Solumina's catalog PTC Windchill integration package, receiving manufacturing bill of materials (mBOMs) and 3D Visualization of CAD models from Windchill. Solumina will also integrate to Cirrus' current enterprise resource planning (ERP) system to create one seamless, integrated manufacturing enterprise. Cirrus selected Solumina to eliminate many of its disparate systems; improve part and resource traceability and visibility; and improve quality by reducing the probability of errors from data re-entry and data duplication.
