Timothy P Walbert has been elected as chairman of the Illinois Biotechnology Industry Organization Board of Directors. He succeeds Andrew Hull, Takeda Pharmaceutical, who served as chairman for the past two years and will continue to serve on the Board and Executive Committee as Immediate Past Chairman. Walbert is the Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer of Horizon Pharma plc.

The Illinois Biotechnology Industry Organization announced the election of new additions to its board of directors. Joining the company’s board are Walt Johnston and David Flowers. Illinois Biotechnology Industry Organization and iBIO Institute Appoint Warren Ribley as President & CEO

The Illinois Biotechnology Industry Organization and its affiliate, the iBIO Institute announced that Warren Ribley has been named President & CEO of both organizations. He will assume his new responsibilities at the beginning of February 2015. Appointed to lead the Illinois Medical District in April of 2012, Ribley is widely credited with revitalizing the District and attracting new tenants and life sciences developments, including the University of Illinois’ Health Technology Innovation center (HTI). Ribley succeeds outgoing iBIO and iBIO Institute President & CEO, David Miller, who has led the iBIO organizations for over twelve years and last year announced his plans to retire in early 2015.
