ANA Holdings Inc. (TSE:9202) is looking to spur consolidation in Asia’s rapidly growing aviation market as it discusses the possibility of taking a strategic stake in Vietnam Airlines Company Limited (HASTC:HVN). Shinichiro Ito, ANA chairman said, “It is almost impossible to close the deal. Therefore, instead of buying up one company, having a little stake in each other, knowing each other, and enjoying synergies — that could be more concrete way of doing this.”
Vietnam Airlines Takes Delivery of Airbus A350-900 Aircraft

Vietnam Airlines has taken delivery of A350-900, a member of Airbus's A350 XWB aircraft family, on a lease from AerCap. Altogether, Vietnam Airlines is set to acquire 14 A350 XWBs, including 10 ordered from Airbus and four from lessors. The A350 XWB features the latest aerodynamic design, carbon fibre fuselage and wings, plus new fuel-efficient Rolls-Royce Trent XWB engines.
