VION Holding N.V. Key Developments
Vion Food to Invest EUR 4 Million in Production Location in Groenlo, Netherlands
Jun 30 15
Vion Food has announced that it will invest EUR 4 million in its production location in Groenlo, Netherlands. The investment is part of a larger program that is designed to optimize the footprint. This program will reduce the number of production locations in The Netherlands and Germany, and will provide for the modernization of the other production locations. All activities related to organic pork and Good Farming Star will be concentrated in Groenlo. This investment follows the optimization of the network of production locations (footprint) of Vion Food which had been announced previously. This optimization process consists on the one hand of closing a number of locations and the sale of (smaller) locations, and on the other hand of investing in various production locations. Vion has announced it will focus its policies primarily on valorization (optimal value creation of livestock processed by Vion Food) and on balancing production with demands from domestic markets and from export markets such as China, America, Japan, Korea and Australia.
