Deutsche Bahn To Sell Minority Stake In Arriva And Schenker

Deutsche Bahn Aktiengesellschaft is looking for investors in its Arriva passenger transport business, Arriva plc and its Schenker logistics unit, Schenker AG, Ruediger Grube, Chief Executive Officer of Deutsche Bahn said to Welt am Sonntag. Grube said, "We will not give up majority ownership at Arriva or Schenker. Both groups will continue to be fully consolidated at Deutsche Bahn in the future." Grube adds, "The Arriva stake sale could start as early as end-2016, though finding investors for Schenker will need more time."
DB Schenker Logistics and GLS Group Form Partnership on European Level

DB Schenker Logistics and the GLS Group have signed a strategic partnership agreement on European level. The companies assist each other in their transport services: DB Schenker Logistics will offer a Europe-wide parcel service and GLS will expand its offer of freight services. The framework agreement for the non-exclusive cooperation was signed in early September. The parcel service GLS, which is active throughout Europe, will deliver parcels for the DB subsidiary. Under the same agreement, DB SL will handle part-load transports (pallets) for GLS. Customers of both companies will have access to a wide range of new transport solutions through their respective logistics provider - in both their domestic and international business. DB Schenker Logistics plans to offer parcel services for corporate customers in Europe under its own brand and thus complete its land transport product portfolio.
Schenker AG Announces Executive Changes

Jochen Thewes, 44, will be the new Chairman of the Board of Management of Schenker AG. With this role, he will lead the Business Unit DB Schenker Logistics, which forms part of the DB Group Board Department Transportation and Logistics. Over the past years, Thewes has made significant contributions to DB Schenker, most notably since 2011 in his role as Chief Executive Officer in Singapore in the fast paced and most dynamic Asia/Pacific Region. Prior to that, he was Senior Vice President Global Ocean Freight, based in the Head Office of DB Schenker Logistics in Essen/Germany. Before joining DB Schenker, Thewes held various senior management positions within the global logistics group Kuehne + Nagel. Jochen Thewes will take over the responsibility as CEO from Dr. Karl-Friedrich Rausch, Management Board Member for Transportation and Logistics at DB Mobility Logistics AG, who held the position on an interim basis. Dr. Rausch will leave the DB Group after 14 years effective July 31, 2015.
