Jakks Pacific Inc. Wins Licensing Deal for Universal Partnerships & Licensing's Despicable Me Franchise

Jakks Pacific Inc. has won the rights to manufacture, market and distribute a line of consumer products based on the Minions from the Despicable Me film franchise. The agreement also covers the upcoming film 'Minions,' from Universal Pictures and Illumination Entertainment, which arrives in theaters July 10, 2015. The licensing agreement awarded by Universal Partnerships & Licensing covers non-articulated figural storage containers (20" or larger), inflatable ball pits, wagons, arcade games, The Original Big Wheel, and outdoor children's furniture. Products are expected to launch at retailers in North America in Spring 2015.
Universal Pictures Home Entertainment Names Jeff Fleeher Worldwide Chief Financial Officer

As part of Universal Pictures Home Entertainment's (UPHE) recent move to globalize its operations, it was announced that Jeff Fleeher has been appointed to the newly created position of Worldwide Chief Financial Officer (CFO). In his new role, Fleeher will develop a financial and operational strategy to support UPHE's 11 operating companies around the world. Additionally, he will drive business operating mechanisms to monitor and further develop the group's key financial metrics, ensure rigorous controllership across the business and directly support all commercial growth opportunities. Fleeher will begin his new role with the company in January, reporting directly to Eddie Cunningham, President, UPHE.
Universal Pictures Appoints Michael Wise as Senior Vice President and Chief Technology Officer

Universal Pictures appointed Michael Wise senior vice president and chief technology officer of the company. In this role, Wise will be responsible for the development and execution of a technology strategy for Universal Pictures and will be overseeing the delivery of all technology initiatives and operations in support of the studio. Wise, who will assume his duties during the week of Dec. 1, recently served as vice president of multiplatform distribution technologies for Time Warner Inc.'s Turner Broadcasting System.
