TRUSTe Expands Data Privacy Management Platform with New Enterprise Application Integration Options

TRUSTe announced the expansion of its Data Privacy Management Platform (TRUSTe Platform) with the addition of enterprise application integration options.  The new capabilities extend the learning's from extensive client usage of the TRUSTe Platform to enable businesses to further enhance and streamline privacy program management by efficiently sharing data with other business systems. The integration options now include top BI, GRC, Help Desk, HCM and ITSM applications in both on-premise and cloud formats. Global privacy requirements, including the GDPR and proposed ePrivacy regulation, along with increased customer concerns and data breach threats are making compliance significantly more complex. Managing privacy impacts multiple organizations, including legal, compliance, information security, marketing, and human resources - requiring seamless coordination of resources, processes, and technology tools across the enterprise. These organizations often have existing systems in place containing valuable information that is essential to successful privacy program management. Integrating the TRUSTe Platform with these business systems enables privacy teams to significantly increase efficiencies and gain organizational support for investing in a privacy management platform.  Some integration examples include: Conducting privacy assessments in the TRUSTe Platform that were triggered from GRC and HCM systems; Exporting assessment remediation tasks from the TRUSTe Platform into service desk systems to track project status; Importing asset information from IT Service Management systems to construct data maps for privacy risk analysis in the TRUSTe Platform; Exporting risk assessment results and program metrics from the TRUSTe Platform into business intelligence systems to produce program accountability reports.

TRUSTe Announces Full Set of Solutions for Companies to Address Assessment, Verification and Dispute Resolution Requirements in New Framework

TRUSTe has announced a full set of solutions for companies to address the assessment, verification and dispute resolution requirements in the new framework. TRUSTe will help companies to review compliance with the new Privacy Shield principles for transfers of customer and HR data out of the EU, prior to self-certification with the Department of Commerce. Companies choosing to use TRUSTe technology for handling customer disputes will be entitled to display a new "Powered by TRUSTe - Privacy Feedback Button". The EU-U.S. Privacy Shield is the new international data transfer framework published in February to replace Safe Harbor. The new framework requires that companies meet stronger obligations to protect the personal data of Europeans and introduces stronger monitoring and enforcement by the US Department of Commerce (DOC) and the Federal Trade Commission (FTC). TRUSTe will amend its certification standards to reflect the changes. The Department of Commerce is expected to start accepting submissions to the program on August 1, 2016. TRUSTe is offering three separate packages to support companies in assessing and verifying that their data protection practices are compliant with the Privacy Shield principles ahead of self-certification with the U.S. Department of Commerce. The Assessment Package and Verification Package can include customer data, HR/employee data or both. In addition, TRUSTe provides a Dispute Resolution Package, which helps companies to efficiently manage privacy inquiries from customers, and addresses the dispute handling requirements of the EU-U.S. Privacy Shield Framework. Companies that use TRUSTe technology and tools to manage privacy related questions or concerns will be entitled to display the new "Powered by TRUSTe Privacy Feedback Button" on their digital Privacy Policy page and links to a mechanism for consumers to submit questions or feedback. The TRUSTe assessment and verification solutions for EU-U.S. Privacy Shield are managed by a team of privacy professionals using its proprietary assessment methodology and powered by TRUSTe Assessment Manager. This SaaS-based privacy technology platform provides interactive compliance reviews, centralized on-demand reporting and searchable audit trails.

TRUSTe Announces Assessment Manager 2.0 Adding Greater Insight and Scale to Privacy Risk Management and Compliance

TRUSTe announced a host of new features that will be included in Assessment Manager 2.0 giving privacy teams increased visibility and control over their privacy program. The new version advances Assessment Manager, the latest module in TRUSTe's Data Privacy Management Platform that is used by over 1,000 companies worldwide for ongoing privacy risk management and compliance. Launched in March 2015, Assessment Manager was developed with the input of many well-known global brands spanning a wide range of industries. The first SaaS privacy assessment solution, Assessment Manager brings the benefits of automation to the privacy industry. This leads to greatly increased speed, efficiency and consistency in conducting Privacy Assessments such as PIAs. Now privacy teams can make the best use of limited resources while improving the overall quality of their data privacy management program. Assessment Manager 2.0 also introduces a new single user workflow that optimizes the assessment process for individuals and enhances the user experience for the new, entry-level Assessment Manager Pro version. Assessment Manager 2.0 introduces new features to support privacy offices in mitigating risk and managing complex privacy programs. These features include: Privacy Program Key Performance Indicators (KPIs); Configurable Program Dashboard; Enhanced Reporting, Program Management, and Remediation; Risk Scoring; Single User Workflow; and Smart Assessment Templates for new regulatory requirements such as EU GDPR. Assessment Manager 2.0 will be available starting November 2015. TRUSTe Assessment Manager is available as a standalone offering or as a module within the TRUSTe Data Privacy Management (DPM) Platform. Assessment Manager Pro Packages are available starting at $1,000 a month for a single seat license based on an annual contract.
