JCB Announces Fresh Set of Job Cuts at Wrexham Sites
Nov 5 15
JCB announced a fresh set of job cuts that will impact its two Wrexham factories. The slowdown, which started in the summer, has resulted in a big fall in machine orders from customers around the globe. As a result, up to 290 shop floor positions are now at risk of redundancy in the UK, including roles in Wrexham. The company employs around 400 workers at two sites on Wrexham Industrial Estate. These cuts are in addition to the 400 UK jobs that were put at risk from an announcement last month. Consultations over those redundancies continue. Discussions over the new proposed redundancies began with the GMB union and a 45 day consultation period has started.
