SFR Offers its FttH Service in the City of Bourges

SFR has started offering its FttH service in the city of Bourges over Orange's fibre network. SFR said that its 1 Gbps fibre service is now available to 6,000 homes in several parts of the city. Another 1,000 will become eligible by the end of the year and the rollout will progressively reach another 30,000 premises in the next few years. Customers wanting 1 Gbps connectivity must sign up to the Fibre Power+ plan with the Booster option, costing an extra EUR 2 a month. Fibre Power+ without this option offers a peak speed of 400 Mbps, with unlimited calls to fixed and mobile numbers and 280 TV channels. It costs EUR 42.99 a month for the first year. There are two other plans, Fibre starter (100 Mbps, unlimited calls, 200 channels) and Fibre Power (200 Mbps, unlimited calls and 240 channels).
SFR Launches STB Without Hard Drive on Red Plans

SFR has launched a new STB from Sagemcom for its Red fibre customers. The box offers access to the country's 25 HD DTT channels, catch-up TV, and a catalogue of 30,000 VoD titles. Customers can also add pay channels such as BeIN Sports, OCS and Canal Plus. The new box comes without a hard drive, allowing Numericable-SFR to avoid having to pay the country's private copy tax, but users can connect an external hard drive to record programmes and for timeshifting. Red Fibre + TV customers pay EUR 21.99 a month for the first year, then EUR 31.99 a month.

SFR reported earnings results for the third quarter and first nine months of 2014. For the quarter, revenue decreased by 3.2% on a comparable basis, compared to a 4.7% decline in the first quarter. EBITA declined by 10.3% to EUR 1.98 billion in the first nine months, excluding exceptional items, and to EUR 1.78 billion including exceptional items.
For the nine months, the company reported a revenue of EUR 7.4 billion, down 2.9% on a reported basis including the revenue of Telindus France and down 4.2% on a comparable basis excluding revenue from Telindus. EBITA declined by 10.3% to EUR 1.98 billion, excluding exceptional items, and to EUR 1.78 billion including exceptional items.
