Josef Schelchshorn will be the new Chief Human Resources Officer at MAN Truck & Bus AG. In his former position, the 54-year-old business economist and member of the executive board at SEAT S.A. was responsible for human resources, too. Previously, Mr. Schelchshorn held various management positions in human resources with Audi AG. On July 1, 2015, he will be succeeding Jochen Schumm, who is retiring after 51 years.
MAN Truck & Bus Plans to Cut 1,800 Jobs to Lower Costs

MAN Truck & Bus has announced that it will cut 1,800 posts at its operations throughout Europe by the end of 2017. By the end of 2017 the programme would have been implemented and will have compensated for the one-off expenditure that the was required in 2015 to maintain competiveness. The rationalization will take place across all of MAN's European truck production sites in Munich (Germany), Steyr (Austria), and Krakow and Salzgitter (Poland). One of the main aspects of the job cuts and the efficiency drive going on around the plants will be avoiding duplication of production and managerial tasks across different production sites. As a result, out of the 1,800 jobs, 1,400 management positions cut and 400 production line posts eliminated.
Tallinn buying 44 New MAN, Volvo buses for EUR 12 Million

The City of Tallinn public transport company TLT is about to buy 44 brand new buses from MAN and Volvo for altogether EUR 12 million. The suppliers of the buses were selected in two separate tenders, one of which was for the supply of 20 brand new diesel powered city buses, won by MAN Truck & Bus AG, and the other for the supply of 24 diesel electric hybrid city buses, won by Volvo Bus Corporation. The 44 buses will cost altogether EUR 12 million and their purchase will be financed with a loan or by means of financial lease.
