Tallinn buying 44 New MAN, Volvo buses for EUR 12 Million

The City of Tallinn public transport company TLT is about to buy 44 brand new buses from MAN and Volvo for altogether EUR 12 million. The suppliers of the buses were selected in two separate tenders, one of which was for the supply of 20 brand new diesel powered city buses, won by MAN Truck & Bus AG, and the other for the supply of 24 diesel electric hybrid city buses, won by Volvo Bus Corporation. The 44 buses will cost altogether EUR 12 million and their purchase will be financed with a loan or by means of financial lease.

MAN SE Appoints Joachim Drees as Chief Executive Officer of MAN Truck & Bus AG, Effective April 1, 2015

MAN SE announced it has appointed former Daimler manager Joachim Drees as head of its division MAN Truck & Bus AG with effect from April. Drees, who spent ten years at Daimler, will take over from Anders Nielsen, who moves over to MAN's parent company Volkswagen, where he will be in charge of business development at its commercial-vehicle division. The Supervisory Board of MAN Truck & Bus AG has appointed Joachim Drees as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Munich commercial vehicle manufacturer. Mr. Drees (50) will assume executive responsibility from Anders Nielsen on April 1, 2015, who will be responsible for Business Development in the commercial vehicles division at Volkswagen AG in future. In addition, the Supervisory Board has decided to extend the contract of 50-year-old Heinz Jurgen Low as Director of Sales & Marketing until 2021. Until recently, Joachim Drees was Chief Financial Officer of Drees & Sommer AG, Stuttgart. He was previously partner in a British investment company in London. As of April 1, 2015 he will be CEO of MAN Truck & Bus AG.
