Qatar Airways Limited Key Developments

Qatar Airways Limited Unveils Three New Destinations in Pakistan

Qatar Airways Limited unveiled the launch dates of three new passenger destinations in Pakistan as part of the airline's continued expansion strategy. Beginning 16th July 2015, the airline will begin four weekly passenger services to Sialkot where it already operates dedicated freighter services three times a week. A day later, on 17th July 2015, Qatar Airways will add Faisalabad to its Pakistan network with three flights a week, and from 1st August 2015, Qatar Airways will spread its wings further in Pakistan with the launch of three flights a week to Multan. The company currently operates 45 flights a week spread across four cities in Pakistan - double daily flights to Karachi, Lahore and Islamabad, and three flights a week to Peshawar. Qatar Airways will operate an Airbus A320 in a two-class configuration of up to 12 seats in Business Class and up to 132 in Economy Class on all the new routes to Pakistan. With five new destinations on the horizon (Amsterdam, Durban, Faisalabad, Sialkot and Multan), Qatar Airways will increase its global portfolio to 151 destinations across Europe, Asia Pacific, the Middle East, Africa, North America and South America. The carrier currently operates a modern fleet of 149 aircraft.

Qatar Airways Expands Code-Share Agreement with S7 Airlines

Qatar Airways has announced that it has strengthened its relationship with S7 Airlines with the implementation of additional code-share routes across its network. Qatar Airways first launched a code-share agreement with S7 Airlines late last year. It allowed Qatar Airways passengers travelling from Doha to be able to connect onto various destinations with S7 Airlines, including Chelyabinsk, Kazan, Omsk, Perm, Rostov, Saint Petersburg, Samara, Sochi, Tyumen and Yekaterinburg. The expansion of this agreement with S7 Airlines will now enable Qatar Airways passengers travelling to Moscow to travel onwards to the additional destinations of Abakan, Anapa, Barnaul, Bratsk, Chita, Irkutsk, Kaliningrad, Kemerovo, Krasnodar, Krasnoyarsk, Nizhnekamsk, Nizhny Novgorod, Novokuznetsk, Novosibirsk, Tomsk, Ufa, Ulan Ude, Volgograd, Voronezh and Yakutsk (Russia), all under one unified code. The code-share expansion follows a period of major route and fleet expansion for Qatar Airways, which has seen the recent addition of 12 new destinations to the airline's route network. The airline now offers its passengers a choice of 146 key business and leisure locations around the globe.

Qatar Airways Announces Expansion of Code-Share Agreements with Cathay Pacific and Japan Airlines

Qatar Airways has announced the further expansion of its code-share agreements with both Cathay Pacific and Japan Airlines, enhancing connectivity around the globe for the travelling public between these oneworld member airlines. Qatar Airways and Cathay Pacific first announced a strategic code-share agreement in April last year, shortly after Cathay Pacific first started servicing Doha directly on 30 March 2014, complementing Qatar Airways existing route frequencies to Hong Kong. This new agreement offers Qatar Airways' passengers greater flexibility and a wider choice when travelling to Australia, New Zealand, Korea and Japan. The new code-share routes between Doha - Muscat and Doha - Sao Paulo will further enhance connectivity for the company passengers. Furthermore Qatar Airways has continued to expand its network offering for those passengers travelling to Japan, with the addition of 24 new domestic code-share routes with oneworld member Japan Airlines. Qatar Airways serves three destinations in Japan from its hub in Doha to Osaka, Tokyo Haneda and Tokyo Narita.
