Ekahau Vision 3.0 Release Now Available with Open Platform and Innovative Enhancements
Apr 14 15
Ekahau announced that Ekahau Vision 3.0, the intelligence engine for the company's renowned real-time location system (RTLS), was released on April 14, 2015. In time for the annual HIMSS conference being held in Chicago this week, the new software is being exhibited on the tradeshow floor for thousands of health IT enthusiasts. Conference attendees began previewing Ekahau Vision 3.0 and are delighted with the new features they have seen. The consensus amongst opening-day crowds at the exhibition was that dashboards are critical must-haves for busy professionals that need accurate data, immediately. The new Ekahau Vision dashboards are expected to be a hit with everyone from operations to executive management. One of the new features that cannot be seen is one of the more significant enhancements to Ekahau RTLS— Ekahau Vision 3.0 is built on an open platform for integration to and from virtually any information system or technical device. Ekahau Developers, members of Ekahau's technology partner program, can access the open platform including protocols for connecting with mobile devices, information systems, security cameras, and electrical utilities— virtually anything that is Wi-Fi accessible. The more visible features of Ekahau Vision 3.0 already exciting previewers include the par level, people, and asset utilization status dashboards. These dashboards convey custom data for information such as target temperature-threshold status'; real-time staff availability and visitor wait durations, and assets' in-use levels, respectively, for flow analysis with the flexibility to convey what matters most. The update also includes Tableau integration with new reports as well as enhanced user administration for simplified system maintenance. Ekahau RTLS is actively used at many of the world's most prominent healthcare facilities as well as at businesses in various industries around the globe. The enhancements and open platform design of Ekahau Vision 3.0 reflect the ingenuity of a global technical company along with the requests of a highly engaged user base. With a commitment to helping businesses achieve their goals, Ekahau continues to provide innovations that enable success.
Ekahau Releases New Version of Network Planning and Field Analysis Software
Apr 8 15
Ekahau released a new version of their network planning and field analysis software that will change the way Wi-Fi networks are designed. Ekahau Site Survey (ESS) 8.0 eliminates the need for manual wall material definitions with the new, intelligent Wall Outlining Wizard. ESS 8.0 also features throughput testing capabilities for more comprehensive field site survey work. Wi-Fi network design relies on building wall locations and wall types in order to determine optimal access point placements. The new Wall Outlining Wizard in ESS 8.0 simplifies this process where, previously, network engineers had to spend hours or days manually drawing the walls and defining the wall characteristics of a multi-floor building. Now, in ESS 8.0, CAD (computer aided design) architectural blueprints of a building can be easily imported into the application to automatically convert the complex blueprints into a simple but very accurate representation of the planning environment. Once the blueprints have been converted, the Auto-Planner feature suggests the locations of Wi-Fi access points on a map, based on user defined requirements, such as "the network needs to support 1,000 simultaneous voice calls made by smartphone users. Alternatively, the simulated access points can be manually placed on the floor plan by the network engineer. ESS then accurately simulates the expected network coverage, performance and capacity. ESS 8.0 also adds accurate 3D radiation patterns of the latest antennas and access points from Cisco, Aruba, Ruckus, Samsung, Acceltex and more. Ekahau Site Survey 8.0 is made for anyone who maintains or designs Wi-Fi networks, from IT administrators to systems integrators. Ekahau Site Survey 8.0 is available now from Ekahau and distribution partners. The upgrade is free for existing Ekahau Site Survey customers with an active support and maintenance contract.
