Avnet, Inc Announces Executive Changes

Avnet, Inc. announced the promotion of Steve Gomez to senior vice president of sales, Avnet Electronics Marketing Americas, effective immediately. Most recently, Gomez served as vice president, area director of the West and Latin America areas within the region. Gomez will be responsible for components sales and related strategies within the Americas region. He will report directly to Chuck Delph, president of Avnet Electronics Marketing Americas. Gomez succeeds Delph. Delph's promotion to the role of president of Avnet Electronics Marketing Americas was announced in February, and became effective on July 3, with the start of Avnet's new fiscal year. Prior to Avnet, Gomez spent time in the broader electronics industry on the manufacturing side, beginning with Motorola (now Freescale) as a sales engineer and then with IDT and National Semiconductor Corp. (now Texas Instruments) in a variety of engineering and sales management positions.

Avnet, Inc. announced Chuck Delph has been appointed president of Avnet Electronics Marketing (EM) for the Americas region. He will be responsible for the strategy and business activities within the EM group in the region and report directly to Gerry Fay, president of Avnet EM worldwide, effective July 3, 2016. Delph brings more than 24 years of electronics distribution industry experience to this position. Since 2009, he has successfully led the EM Americas components selling organization, serving as senior vice president, executive sales for the Americas. Prior to his current role, Delph held a number of positions of increasing responsibility within Avnet, from district manager to regional manager to area director. Delph succeeds Ed Smith, a 25-year electronics industry veteran who has held the role since February 2009. Smith has been promoted to senior vice president of Avnet embedded solutions globally, effective July 3, 2016.

Avnet, Inc. Available with the Kintex UltraScale XCKU040-1FBVA676 device in a small form factor, the kit enables designers to prototype high-performance systems with ease, while providing expandability and customization through the FMC HPC expansion slot and PMOD headers. The complete Kintex UltraScale Development Kit is available for $975. The Avnet-designed Kintex UltraScale Development Board packages all the functions needed for an embedded processing system.
