Radford University Appoints Katherine McCarthy as President for Enrollment Management

Katherine McCarthy has been appointed vice president for enrollment management at Radford University. Nancy Ross, head of the Virginia Tech Department of Geosciences, has been elected a fellow of the Geological Society of America. Pamela VandeVord, interim department head and undergraduate program chair of biomedical engineering and mechanics in the College of Engineering at Virginia Tech, has been awarded the N. Waldo Harrison Professorship by the Virginia Tech Board of Visitors.
Radford University Appoints Katherine "Kitty" Mccarthy as Vice President

Radford University announced that Katherine "Kitty" McCarthy was appointed vice president of enrollment. She will begin her job September 1, 2016. McCarthy was previously vice president for enrollment management and student affairs at West Virginia State University located near Charleston. Radford's current president, Brian Hemphill, was president there before he took over the top spot at Radford in July. McCarthy will report directly to Hemphill in the new position and will be paid an initial annual salary of $158,000.
French Business School Becomes Newest Radford's International Exchange Partner

Radford University and the ESDES School of Business and Management have signed an exchange agreement that will enable Radford students to study at the business school in Lyon, France. Radford's International Education Center now offers nine exchange programs in which students study for a semester at an international partner university. The agreement with ESDES, signed on February 22, 2016, will enable students to spend a semester studying in Lyon and ESDES students will study here. RU students will be able to choose from over 40 courses in the areas of management, marketing, finance, international business, and the European Union as well as having the option to take French language classes at all levels. ESDES will provide RU students with all they need to make the transition into living in France as easy as possible including housing, health insurance and academic advising. It will also offer excursions and activities, such as trips to Paris and the United Nations headquarters in Geneva, cooking classes with a French chef, as well as dinners with local families, visits to area museums and regional ski areas.
