Imagine Communications and Hewlett Packard Enterprise Unveil Strategic Relationship
Jan 21 16
Imagine Communications announced an expansion of its relationship with Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) designed to enable communications service providers (CSPs) and other broadcast and media companies to construct video production, playout and distribution facilities that deliver unprecedented scale, flexibility, performance and reliability. The strengthened relationship forms a framework for HPE to resell Imagine Communications’ entire product portfolio virtually worldwide and aligns Imagine Communications’ core products with HPE’s software, hardware and services solutions. The enhanced relationship is supported by a broad go-to-market strategy that targets content distributors, aggregators and broadcasters operating in all segments of the industry, and extending into government, sports venues, corporate and houses of worship markets. The new alliance creates a strategic partnership focused on the modernization of broadcast, distribution and new media facilities that is unprecedented in this industry in scale, reach, technology innovation and sophistication of integration and support services. This partnership will utilize HPE’s Communications & Media Solutions (CMS) organization, a global leader in systems integration services. The agreement expansion calls for HPE to resell products from Imagine Communications’ playout, networking, distribution and ad management solutions portfolios, as well as products and intellectual property from HPE Software and CMS businesses. This arrangement forms the framework for HPE’s CMS organization and channel partners to represent Imagine Communications’ entire product portfolio, including Platinum™ routers, Nexio™ servers and Versio™, the company’s IP playout solution that is enabling media companies on multiple continents to relocate playout, master control and channel origination operations to cloud and other virtualized environments. The strategic partnership is also intended to include Imagine Communications’ CloudXtream™ portfolio, comprised of cloud-based solutions that empower service providers to introduce new and highly personalized services that redefine the video consumption experience. The Imagine Communications portfolio includes capabilities for live, linear, on-demand, and cloud DVR (cDVR) video delivery models, and enables dynamic ad insertion (DAI) capabilities for any of those models. CloudXtream, paired with HPE storage and compute resources, helps service providers generate new revenue, extend reach to new consumers and devices, and realize dramatic operational savings and substantial storage optimization improvements. A major benefit of the collaboration is that it will provide media companies with a single source for all hardware, software, service and support needs. Products and solutions delivered through the collaboration are backed by HPE’s world-class support and services operations. The scope of the relationship also includes the migration of Imagine Communications’ core products to HPE hardware platforms. By optimizing media functions to execute on storage and compute platforms, Imagine Communications is introducing price and performance improvements, as well as increasing the deployment flexibility of its solutions portfolio. Imagine Communications’ solutions are adaptable to a variety of operational and deployment models, from premises-based to the cloud.
Alrai TV Launches Cloud Playout Solution from Imagine Communications
Nov 10 15
Imagine Communications announced that it has implemented a proof of concept IP-based playout system at Alrai TV. The broadcaster plans to use the virtualized environment to optimize workflows and speed service introductions, as well as for business continuity protection in the event of a service disruption. The solution uses the Imagine Communications Versio™ integrated channel playout solution running in a virtualized environment on a standard HP platform and Nexio® Motion and Nexio AMP servers. The playout software also provides branding animation, logo insertion and live switching. As part of the initiative, in 2015 Alrai TV installed new playout video servers, instant online managers, workflow managers and glue products. Alrai TV has fully integrated its existing physical operations with the new virtual playout facilities. Both solutions are provided by Imagine Communications. This hybrid approach allows common control of existing and new channels and helps ensure both hardware-based and virtualized solutions are kept in synchronization for disaster recovery applications.
Imagine Communications Extends Ad-ID Integration with Landmark Agency 5.0
Sep 16 15
Imagine Communications announced that it is integrating its Landmark Agency system with Ad-ID, the advertising industry standard developed by the American Association of Advertising Agencies (4As) and the ANA (Association of National Advertisers) for identifying advertising assets across all media platforms. Ad-ID integration allows an agency to create a unique Ad-ID code in the Ad-ID system and to import the information into their Landmark Agency buying and production systems – without mistakes or redundant data entry. The shared import brings over Ad-ID code information, advertiser, commercial activity dates, and other details, making the data available for use in national, local and multimedia planning and buying modules. In addition to the Ad-ID integration and other enhancements, Landmark Agency 5.0 provides support for the change in the Nielsen ratings service broadcast day to 3:00 AM, which was designed to support the capture of early morning news programming on the day it aired. Landmark Agency 5.0 is currently in beta testing and will be available later in the fall.
