OFS Launches New TrueM2 6kW Beam Combiner at Laser World of Photonics

OFS will showcase its new 6x1 TrueM2-14 beam combiner at the Laser World of Photonics Exposition being held in Munich, Germany from 22 through 25 June 2015. OFS continues to develop the TrueM2 platform enabling machine manufacturers to build their own fiber laser sources using modular architecture producing customized fiber lasers based on unique application requirements. The new 6x1 TrueM2-14 combiner can be mated up to six TrueMode-kW laser cavity modules, or other compatible modules, and is rated to 6 kW. With 6x1 TrueM2-14 Beam Combiner, machine manufacturers can build their own fiber laser sources using modular architecture, producing customized fiber lasers based on application requirements. Combiner can be mated with up to 6 TrueMode-kW laser cavity modules or other compatible modules. Measuring 300 x 150 x 15 mm, product provides >97% transmission performance, up to 1,100 W input power per port, and 34 mm-mrad beam.

OFS Expands All Dry Cable Solution Into Microcable Product Line

OFS expands its totally dry cable solution into a new microcable product line. OFS' totally dry MiDia® Dry FX microcable can help reduce fibre cable installation costs and improve safety and productivity in several ways. Cable preparation is streamlined since the fibres emerge from their buffer tubes ready for fusion splicing or optical testing, eliminating the need for cleaning products and leaving the work area and tools safer and cleaner. This entirely dry cable technology replaces the gel-based filling and flooding compounds traditionally used to prevent the spread of water in outside plant cables. MiDia Dry FX microcable is the latest innovation in OFS' extensive line of totally dry outside plant cable products, building upon OFS' expertise in the development and expansion of dry cable technology. MiDia Dry FX is currently available in three constructions containing up to 144 fibres and comes standard with OFS' bend insensitive AllWave® + fibre.

OFS Announces Launch of its New LC Crimp

OFS announced the launch of its new LC Crimp and Cleave connectivity solution for Industrial Networks. The LC Crimp and Cleave Connector takes advantage of the advanced optical and mechanical properties of HCS (Hard Clad Silica) and Graded Index HCS optical fibers, attaching to the cable through mechanical means rather than traditional epoxy/polish methods. Fast (100 Mb/sec) and Gigabit Ethernet (1,000 Mb/sec) data rates in industrial networks demand higher bandwidth and real-time, low-latency communications. The increasing use of intelligent electronic devices, utility-grade rugged Internet Protocol routers, and Ethernet switches is driving IP-based communications on the production floor and new demands in factory automation and industrial networking applications. A high bandwidth, rugged, and reliable cabling solution is indispensable for the growing demand in Industrial Networking applications as data rates in industrial settings grow. OFS' GiHCS optical fiber in a Low Smoke Zero Halogen cable construction with easy-to-use Crimp and Cleave LC connectors allow technicians an easy-to-learn connector installation for harsh environments.
