Abaco Systems Announces First 40 Gigabit Ethernet-Capable 3U OpenVPX Single Board Computer

Abaco Systems announced the first 3U OpenVPX member of its rapidly-growing 40 Gigabit Ethernet ecosystem. The rugged SBC367D 3U OpenVPX single board computer features the ultra-high performance Intel ®Xeon® D-1500 processor family with up to 16 cores, up to 32GBytes (soon to be 64GBytes) of DDR4 SDRAM memory – and support for 10/40 Gigabyte Ethernet across the backplane. It is a key element in Abaco's broadening family of mission ready systems, as well as being attractive to customers building their own systems. Abaco previously announced the 40 Gigabit Ethernet capable SBC627 6U OpenVPX single board computer, DSP282A multiprocessor and SWE540 fully managed Ethernet switch. Designed for demanding applications such as electronic warfare and ISR, the SBC367D provides a 40 Gigabit Ethernet alternative to the PCI Express®-based SBC347D. Like the SBC347D, it includes a range of security features designed to support user-defined Anti-Tamper and Information Assurance strategies. These include an inherently secure FPGA solution (SmartFusion2 from Microsemi™), and support for Intel's Trusted Execution Technology. PCI Express-based solutions are ideal for smaller system solutions with a relatively low number of host cards and peripherals. Ethernet-based architectures are preferred for larger, multi-module systems. The provision of 40 Gigabit Ethernet support now makes it possible to develop HPEC (high performance embedded computing) systems in the 3U VPX form factor. Ethernet support provides significant scalability, providing the potential for much more capable 3U VPX systems than was previously possible. The SBC367D also includes Abaco's advanced thermal technologies, giving not only increased reliability but also enabling it to operate at the maximum rated speed of its components. Available in a range of air- and conduction cooled build levels with extended temperature capability, the SBC367D will offer a rich software choice including AMI UEFI (with support of BIOS Guard for signed image execution); Intel Firmware Support Package (FSP) enabled coreboot; FSP enabled Built In test; VxWorks® 7; Window®s 10; Open Linux® support (Fedora); Advantage Linux support (Red Hat Enterprise Linux), and with support for RDMA which provides very low latency and low CPU overhead communication at close to wire speed.

Abaco Systems announced the SBC329 rugged 3U OpenVPX single board computer. It is designed as a straightforward, cost-effective 'drop in' technology insertion opportunity for existing users of Abaco's mission ready systems and as a powerful, minimal SWaP solution for customers developing their own systems for demanding applications to be deployed in harsh, highly-constrained environments. The SBC329 offers a 10% performance improvement over its predecessors and, because it is based on Intel's latest silicon, also delivers greater longevity extending the life of deployed platforms. It is the third SBC from Abaco to feature the latest 7th generation IntelÂ® CoreÂ® technology. Abaco had previously announced the XVB603 and XVR19 6U VME single board computers that also leverage the additional capability of Intel's newest silicon. The SBC329 is available in two variants, both pin-compatible with the SBC326 and SBC328. These provide mission ready systems customers with the flexibility to choose the most appropriate platform. For applications prioritizing throughput and performance, the SBC329 is configurable with the Intel Xeon E3-1505M V6 processor operating at 3.0GHz. For applications prioritizing minimal power consumption/heat dissipation, the Intel Xeon E3-1505L operating at 2.2GHz is available. The SBC329 provides enhanced support for customers planning to implement advanced security capabilities such as anti-tamper and information assurance. This includes an inherently secure FPGA solution, and support for Intel's Trusted Execution Technology. It also benefits from its support for Abaco's AXIS Advanced Multiprocessor Integrated Software development environment.
Abaco Systems Announces Uniquely Flexible 40 Gigabit Ethernet Switch for High Performance Dynamic Networks, HPEC Systems

Abaco Systems announced the SWE540 6U OpenVPX 40 Gigabit Ethernet switch. It provides high speed Ethernet connectivity for Abaco's of high performance computing solutions such as the SBC627 single board computer and the recently-announced DSP282A digital signal processor. This enables the company to deliver significant performance upgrades for its growing range of rapidly-deployable, complete, pre-integrated mission ready systems. These solutions target high performance embedded computing (HPEC) applications requiring the transfer of large amounts of data with the lowest possible latency such as radar, surveillance, situational awareness and imaging. It also provides a straightforward, cost-effective upgrade for existing users of Abaco's GBX460 switch, maximizing the long term value of customers' investments while enabling a significant performance increase for those looking to achieve faster transfers of large amounts of data with lower latencies. The switch features Abaco's latest OpenWare™ switch management software, allowing it to be easily customized for specific customer requirements. OpenWare provides support for a wide range of network protocols and MIBs (management information bases) with extensive capabilities for multicast, Quality of Service, VLANs, and differentiated services. The OpenWare management interface may be accessed via serial console, SNMP, Telnet, SSH or web interface. The combination of the SWE540's hardware and the OpenWare switch management software delivers comprehensive security capabilities. Designed for deployment in security-sensitive mission critical applications, SWE540 features include denial of service attack prevention, user password mechanisms with multiple levels of security and military level authorization schemes including 802.1X and sanitization to allow the overwrite of non-volatile storage if a system is compromised. Survivability is also enhanced by ECC protection on the management processor memory which offers higher reliability in harsh environments.
