Frontgate Launches New Luxury Home Design Brand Porta Forma
Apr 30 15
Cornerstone announced the launch of Porta Forma, a new modern luxury home design brand from Frontgate. Launching this week with a catalog and dedicated portal on Frontgate's website, Porta Forma targets an affluent customer base and has a simple guiding principle: 'Good design lives as well as it looks'. Porta Forma was developed as not just a collection of furniture, but a fully articulated compilation of looks with interchangeable design elements across the collections. Accessorized down to the last luxe pillow and dramatic objet d'art, this attention to detail makes high-concept looks accessible to customers, empowering them to create their own sophisticated interiors and outdoor spaces. From big sweeping lines to small details, all were conceived to bring the brand's key premise to life. This is Porta Forma where uncompromising modern design meets seductive comfort.
Cinmar Agrees to Pay $3.1 Million Civil Penalty
Jun 6 14
The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) announced that Cinmar LLC, of West Chester, Ohio, has agreed to pay a $3.1 million civil penalty. The penalty agreement has been accepted provisionally by the Commission in a 3-0 vote. The settlement resolves CPSC staff's charges that the firm knowingly failed to report to CPSC immediately, as required by federal law, a defect involving Frontgate foldaway two-and three-step ladders made of mahogany wood and designed for use in walk-in closets. Cinmar sold the ladders nationwide between November 2005 and July 2010 for $90 to $150. CPSC staff charged that the steps could break unexpectedly, posing a fall hazard to consumers.
