DC Comics, Inc. Key Developments

DC Entertainment, Warner Bros. Animation, Warner Bros. Consumer Products and Mattel Join Forces to Launch DC Super Hero Girls

Beginning in Fall 2015, DC Entertainment, Warner Bros. Animation, Warner Bros. Consumer Products and Mattel joined forces to launch DC Super Hero Girls, a new universe of Super Heroic storytelling that helps build character and confidence, and empowers girls to discover their true potential. Featuring DC Comics' most powerful and diverse line-up of female characters as relatable teens, DC Super Hero Girls will play out across multiple entertainment content platforms and product categories to create an immersive world. Developed for girls aged 6-12, DC Super Hero Girls centers on the female Super Heroes and Super-Villains of the DC Comics universe during their formative years—prior to discovering their full super power potential. The initial launch of DC Super Hero Girls in Fall 2015 will include an immersive digital experience, original digital content and digital publishing, providing opportunities for girls to interact with characters, learn about the storylines, and engage in customizable play. TV specials, made-for-videos, toys, apparel, books and other product categories will begin to rollout in 2016. As master toy licensee, Mattel is collaborating with DC Entertainment, Warner Bros. Animation and Warner Bros. Consumer Products on DC Super Hero Girls' narrative creation, interactive digital activations and ultimately a toy line launching in 2016.

Warner Bros. Consumer Products and DC Entertainment Announce Relationship with Mattel, Inc

Warner Bros. Consumer Products (WBCP) with DC Entertainment announced that it has once again extended its successful relationship with Mattel, Inc. The new multi-year agreement grants Mattel rights to continue as master toy licensee for the entire universe of DC Comics characters. Under the terms of this strategic alliance, Mattel is granted unprecedented access to the complete breadth and scope of the DC Comics vault of characters, which includes more than a thousand world-famous DC Comics Super Heroes and DC Comics Super-Villains, such as Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, The Flash, and The Joker.

Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment and Dc Entertainment Launches Batman: Arkham Origins and Batman: Arkham Origins Blackgate

Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment and DC Entertainment unleash some of DC Comics' most deadly villains upon Gotham City with the launch of Batman: Arkham Origins. The next installment of the blockbuster Batman: Arkham video game franchise is available for the PlayStation(R)3 computer entertainment system, Xbox 360 games and entertainment system from Microsoft, Wii U(TM) system and Windows PC. Also available is Batman: Arkham Origins Blackgate for the PlayStation(R)Vita handheld entertainment system and Nintendo 3DS(TM) handheld system. Developed by WB Games Montréal, Batman: Arkham Origins is based on DC Comics' core Batman license. The game features an expanded Gotham City and introduces an original prequel storyline set several years before the events of Batman: Arkham Asylum and Batman: Arkham City, the first two critically acclaimed games of the franchise. Taking place before the rise of Gotham City's most dangerous criminals, the game showcases a young, unrefined Batman as he faces the defining moment of his early career and sets his path to becoming the Dark Knight. Batman: Arkham Origins Blackgate, a companion game to Batman: Arkham Origins, is a 2.5-D handheld game developed by Armature Studio, which brings the core Batman Arkham pillars, such as FreeFlow combat and Batman's infamous gadgets, to the PlayStation(R)Vita handheld entertainment system and Nintendo handheld format for the first time. Batman: Arkham Origins Blackgate allows players to continue the storyline of the console version and discover more details of the Dark Knight's past.
