DriveSafety, Inc. Announces the New CDS-250W Clinical Driving Simulator

DriveSafety, Inc. announced the availability of its new high-end CDS-250W Clinical Driving Simulator. The DriveSafety CDS-250W helps therapists in clinical environments assess and rehabilitate both ambulatory as well as wheelchair patients with driving-related issues. For ambulatory patients or patients who transfer from their wheelchair to their car, the CDS-250W can be used with the car seat module docked with the driver control console. For patients who don't transfer from their wheelchairs, the CDS-250W car seat module can be easily detached from the driver control console to allow full use of the system from a patient's wheelchair. The height of the driver control console can then be adjusted electronically to accommodate patients and wheelchairs of varying sizes. The simulator also comes with a full set of interchangeable hand controls, a spinner knob, left foot accelerator pedal and pedal guards. The CDS-250W provides a total rendered horizontal field of view of 110 degrees through the use of three 19" (diagonal) LCD screens each with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels. Unmatched in the industry for its fidelity, face validity, and clinician-oriented features, the CDS-250W includes: a partial car cab based on a Ford Focus sedan, adjustable car seat with twice the normal range, dash and center console, steering wheel with dynamic electric torque feedback, standard automotive driver controls including accelerator and brake pedals, gear select, ignition, turn signals and headlight controls, wireless tablet-based operator interface, and SimClinic(TM) software scenario libraries.

DriveSafety, Inc. Unveils New CDS-200 Clinical Driving Simulator for Rehabilitation

DriveSafety, Inc. announced the availability of its new entry-level Clinical Driving Simulator -- the CDS-200. The DriveSafety CDS-200 helps therapists in clinical environments assess and rehabilitate patients with driving-related issues and starts at a lower price point than its CDS-250 simulator. Therapists use the CDS-200 driving simulator for treating and evaluating a wide range of functional abilities, including visual/perceptual, cognitive and motor control functions. The CDS-200 ships with the SimClinic Standard Library of 19 driving scenarios and patient activities, and can also include the optional SimClinic Expansion Modules for Interactive Exercises and for Learning Basic Controls. The CDS-200 display consists of three 19" (diagonal) LCD screens each with a resolution of 1,920 x 1,080 pixels, and provides a total rendered horizontal field of view of 110 degrees. The system includes a comfortable and sturdy vinyl-covered free-standing chair. To accommodate patients of different shapes and sizes the entire system can be moved up or down electronically and the steering wheel and pedals can be adjusted independently.
