Mail.ru Reports Earnings Results for the First Half of 2016; Revises Earnings Guidance for the Year 2016

Mail.ru reported earnings results for the first half of 2016. For the quarter, the company's revenue grew by 11.6% year-on-year in the first half to RUB 18.834 billion, while EBITDA increased 3.2% to RUB 8.691 billion in the six months.
The company anticipates an EBITDA margin of 47%-48% over the full year, down slightly from a previous target of 47%-49%. Revenue growth in 2016 is expected to be at the low end of the guided range of 8%-14% as the weak consumer climate in Russia puts pressure on revenues from VAS and games.

Mail.ru Group has founded a new unit that will focus on experimental online and offline games for Russian and Western markets. The unit will look for ideas for new projects, including projects based on new gaming trends and genres.
Oleg Spilchevsky has been appointed the head of the new unit. He has previously worked as head of the gaming business at Mail.ru Group.

Mail.Ru LLC reported final audited earnings results for the year ended December 31, 2015. Group aggregate segment revenue of RUB 36,316 million, group aggregate segment EBITDA of RUB 18,123 million and group aggregate net profit at RUB 9,915 million (all numbers ex HeadHunter).
For the first quarter, group aggregate segment revenue grew 11.3% year on year to RUB 9,727 million compared to RUB 8,743 million a year ago. To allow like for like comparison all HeadHunter revenues have been excluded from first quarter.
Based on the start to the year, current visibility and current market conditions, the company is pleased to re-iterate fiscal 2016 guidance of ex HeadHunter like for like revenue growth of between 8%-14%. As previously stated the company will be undertaking further marketing campaigns through 2016, however the company will continue to maintain effective cost management and as such the company continues to anticipate full year EBITDA margins at between 47%-49%.
