ROBERTS has launched a range of connected audio devices, powered by Frontier Silicon's UNDOKTM audio platform. R-line by ROBERTS is a new premium audio range including devices across all key home audio categories: wireless speakers, sound system with DAB and CD, soundbar and a hybrid radio offering FM, DAB and Internet radio. The devices can be used individually or as part of multi-room wireless streaming systems. The comprehensive range, comprising the practical and portable R-Series, the stylish and contemporary S-Series and a bass-integrated soundbar, offers a myriad of features including streaming across Wi-Fi or Bluetooth, streaming users music collection, access to online music services like Spotify, or listening to Internet, CD, DAB, or FM radio, with the same music in every room, or different music in each room. UNDOKTM is a set of hardware modules, firmware, APIs and mobile apps which enable a flexible and powerful multi-room experience for connected audio products. All devices using UNDOK are interoperable. UNDOKTM has been adopted by numerous audio manufacturers including Ruark, Revo, Technisat, Hama, Dual, Argon, Goodmans, with others announcing products soon. Jointly, they represent the larger open multi-room ecosystem. The ROBERTS R-Line range of products will be available in the UK and Europe from early 2016.
Frontier Silicon to Showcase its New Minuet Connected Audio Module at IFA

Frontier Silicon will showcase its new Minuet connected audio module at IFA, featuring Google Cast technology for audio devices. This module is the product of collaboration between Google, Marvell Technology and Frontier and will address the fast growing market for connected Wi-Fi home speakers and audio systems. Minuet with Google Cast built-in offers: - access to a wide and growing range of Cast-enabled audio services from around the world. Minuet is powered by a dual core 1.3GHz processor and 802.11ac and Bluetooth Smart wireless technology from Marvell. This is a continuation of Frontier's partnership with Marvell, which dates to launch of the successful Venice Wi-Fi module series in 2009. The module includes a variety of interfaces to support audio accessories and next generation sensor technologies for future smart home applications. In order to help manufacturers reduce time to market, Frontier offers a full range of services designed to accelerate the development process. These include a customisable embedded SDK, remote control apps and APIs, fully qualified reference designs, development and manufacturing support teams and a fully managed certification process. Minuet modules will be sampling with selected partners this month.

Frontier Silicon announced the launch of its new UNDOK connected audio system. UNDOK is a set of hardware modules, firmware, APIs and mobile apps which enable a flexible and powerful multi-room experience for connected audio products – including table top and Internet radios, speakers, integrated audio systems, soundbars and micro-systems. UNDOK provides multi-room functionality for multiple audio sources. UNDOK also supports multi-sound – where the app allows users to play audio from different sources on separate groups of speakers. All devices using UNDOK are interoperable. The ‘Powered by UNDOK’ branding helps consumers choose compatible products and create their own personal soundscape. The UNDOK app (available in iTunes App Store and Google Play) is developed and maintained by Frontier, ensuring that it is always up to date with the latest design and technology trends.
