The parties involved in the May 2, 2015, boxing match between Manny Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather Jr. are facing as many as five lawsuits. One such lawsuit was filed against the boxers, their promoters, HBO, Showtime, AT&T Inc., Comcast Corp. and DIRECTV. The suit, which seeks class action status, was filed following Pacquiao's recent disclosure about a shoulder injury he suffered while preparing for the fight. The plaintiffs reportedly claimed that the parties involved in the boxing event would not have earned as much pay-per-view revenues as they got had they disclosed information about the injury before the match.
STX Entertainment & Showtime Networks Partner on Multi-Year Premium Television Output Deal as STX Begins Production on Initial Slate of Films

Showtime Networks and STX Entertainment, the newly launched film, television and multimedia studio, announced that they have closed a multi-year output agreement to bring motion pictures distributed theatrically by STX exclusively to Showtime Networks during the premium television window. The deal will begin in 2015 and covers the studio's theatrical releases through 2019, which will be shown exclusively on Showtime Networks and its multiplex channels including SHOWTIMEÂ®, THE MOVIE CHANNELTM and FLIXÂ®. Additionally, STX Entertainment is commencing production on its initial film slate, with more titles to be revealed in the coming months.Â The first four features include projects from Academy AwardÂ® nominee Gary Ross (The Hunger Games, Seabiscuit), OscarÂ® nominee Billy Ray (Captain Phillips, The Hunger Games), OscarÂ® winner Mark Johnson (Rain Man, Breaking Bad) and OscarÂ® nominee Jason Blum (Whiplash). The announced projects will star Academy AwardÂ® winners Matthew McConaughey, Julia Roberts and Nicole Kidman, as well as OscarÂ® nominee Chiwetel Ejiofor, Golden GlobeÂ® nominee Will Ferrell, Golden GlobeÂ® winner Jason Bateman, among many others.
