Polymer Technology Systems, Inc. Introduces CardioChek(R) Plus Analyzer
Jul 30 13
Polymer Technology Systems, Inc. introduced the CardioChek Plus analyzer at the annual American Association for Clinical Chemistry (AACC) in Houston. The CardioChek Plus analyzer is a combination reflectance lipid and electrochemical glucose analyzer that delivers rapid test results for lipids and glucose simultaneously. The system has Wi-Fi capabilities and can transmit patient results to data collection applications. It is the only point-of-care multi-analyte system of its kind that can provide a glucose result, a calculated LDL measurement, a non-HDL calculated measurement, an LDL/HDL ratio, and a total cholesterol (TC)/HDL ratio simultaneously with a simple fingerstick blood sample while providing important total cholesterol, HDL cholesterol, and triglycerides values at the same time. The CardioChek Plus system builds upon the highly successful CardioChek PA platform by adding an electrochemical glucose test, Wi-Fi capabilities, and additional ratios. The electrochemical glucose capability provides a faster result than reflectance testing and enables total cholesterol, HDL cholesterol, triglycerides, calculated LDL cholesterol, total cholesterol/HDL ratio, LDL/HDL ratio, non-HDL, and glucose results to be delivered simultaneously. With a test-to-result speed of just 2 minutes, the CardioChek Plus system delivers this critical information more rapidly than other analyzers and all direct test results are displayed on one screen. The CardioChek Plus analyzer also performs all single and multiple analyte tests currently available for other CardioChek systems. In addition, the device offers a larger, high-resolution screen, simple two-button operation, and there is no refrigeration required for test strips.
Polymer Technology Systems, Inc. to Provide Point-Of-Care Lipid Testing to Aegis Health Group's Hospital Clients
Jun 18 13
Polymer Technology Systems, Inc. announced a partnership with Aegis Health Group to integrate the CardioChek(R) PA system into Aegis workforce wellness programs administered by health systems across the country. The CardioChek PA lipid testing system, manufactured by PTS and distributed through Hanson Medical Systems, offers immediate, on-site results for total cholesterol, HDL cholesterol, LDL cholesterol, triglycerides, and glucose. The CardioChek PA test system will be available to health systems using Aegis' employer relationship management program, through which hospitals work with local employers to improve population health. Using CardioChek allows hospitals to instantaneously collect and record biometric data at health fairs and on site at employer locations. Screening results are transmitted in less than two minutes to Aegis' health management application, OneCommunity. As a result, both patients and healthcare providers have immediate feedback about a test used to identify critical health risks on the spot. Without the CardioChek PA analyzer, when hospitals and wellness companies conduct on-site biometric screenings for employer groups, blood samples must be processed through a laboratory and results manually added to patients' health records which is a process that can take up to two weeks. This new partnership between PTS and Aegis allows test results to be automatically added to a participant's health risk profile within OneCommunity, Aegis' population health portal, in a matter of minutes.
