Wates Group announced that it has appointed David Allen, Crossrail's Finance Director, as Chief Financial Officer and company Secretary with effect from January 4, 2016. Joining the company Board, Allen will succeed current CFO and Company Secretary, Huw Davies, following his decade-long tenure in the position. Under Davies' stewardship, the financial performance of the company has remained robust throughout some of the most challenging economic conditions the construction industry has experienced. Davies will leave the company at the end of March 2016. David Allen is currently Crossrail's Finance Director. He joined Crossrail in March 2009 from Laing O'Rourke, where he was Finance Director for their European Construction business. With over twenty years' experience in finance, Allen, who is a Chartered Accountant, joins the company's Board as the Group continues to roll out an ambitious growth plan to increase turnover two-fold to GBP 2 billion.

Wates Group Limited announced that James Wates CBE has been appointed as a Non-Executive to Argent, adding to the Wates Group Chairman's roster of professional responsibilities. With effect from May 1, 2015, Mr. Wates will contribute to Argent's strategic growth and performance as a London, Birmingham and Manchester-based property developer. His current credits also include positions as Chairman of leading industry bodies, the Building Research Establishment (BRE) Trust, the Construction Industry Training Board (CITB) and the UK Contractors Group. He is also Chairman of the Prince's Trust Built Environment Leadership Group. With over 30 years in the construction industry, Mr. Wates joined the Wates Board in 1997, becoming the Group Chairman in 2013.
Wates Appoints Andrew Davies as New Chief Executive

Wates announced that Andrew Davies, of BAE Systems, will take over as chief executive of the firm. Davies is currently managing director of BAE Systems' Maritime business division. Previously Davies held roles as group strategy director, at which time he was appointed a member of the BAE Systems executive committee, and was managing director of Land Systems.
